Following up a crazy night of fine tequila drinking at the PELIGROSO Tequila launch party, San Clemente was on fire again for the public unveiling of Skullcandy’s west coast office.
With the interior build out complete featuring an in-house mini ramp and Jeff King on hand, this thing had “epic session” written all over it!
Jeff King, the host of Fuel TV’s Built to Shred, transformed the Skullcandy carpark into the Season 3 Finale of the show with a myriad of converted junk and spraypaint. The place looked sick. One of the best features was a make-shift wooden gap set up with a busted handicapped sign sticking out into it. A strategically placed tail tap to the sign would drop an unlucky lady straight into the dunk tank.
At the musical helm was none other than the legendary Beastie Boys DJ Mixmaster Mike on the turntables. As I rolled in to Mike banging out some big sounds, none other than skate legends, Steve Caballero and Christian Hosoi were destroying the mini ramp. Not a bad start. As I made my way through the mayhem giving my greetings along the way I eventually made it outside to “BTS” ramp-land. From Corey Duffel and Greg Lutzka to super-grom throwdown there was a great vibe complimented by the smell of finely crafted Mexican food and beer in the air. Wall rides, gaps, busted toilet grinds, launch ramps and kiddie pools, pinball machines to makeshift thrones, there was nothing the Built to Shred crew left out. BMX boys Mike “Hucker” Clarke and TJ Ellis were holding it down and surf stars Kolohe Andino, Dylan Graves, Kai Otten, Tanner, Pat and Dane Gudauskas were soaking it all in.
Back inside the groms had taken over the mini ramp in the foreground as some insane artwork was being created behind them by Skullcandy artists.
Since a picture’s worth a thousand words and I’m lazy, check out the photo gallery for some snaps of the killer art.
If this is any indicator, Skullcandy will be shaking up the West Coast from ground zero, San Clemente, this summer!
